The movie follows Koo Ja-Yoon (Kim Da-Mi), a child rescued by old farmers after escaping captivity as a human experiment. The plot peaks as Ja-Yoon is eventually recaptured as a teenager and separated from her loved ones. Award-Winning Movie #3 – Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer is a sci-fi and action film directed by Bong Joon-Ho. The movie is set after Earth becomes completely barren and frozen from a failed climate change “solution.” The human race is forced to create a new civilization on Snowpiercer, a train, which circles the entire planet. The movie focuses on heavy subjects in this dark satire like power, authority, classism, and the meaning of life. It’s also supposed to be a warning for what can happen to the planet when humans go too far.

With the lowest class of humans living in squalor at the back of the train to the highest class living in luxury at the front of the train, this movie also depicts a story of a revolution, in addition to the aforementioned themes. It is full of foreign actors like Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, and Octavia Spencer. However, it still has amazing Korean actors like Song Kang-Ho and is directed by the director of the Oscar-winning film Parasite.

The movie won 35 awards and received 105 nominations for a variety of categories. For more information on these awards, you should also check out the IMDb awards page.
